Suddenly, recruitment is an employer’s market.
It seems just moments ago that it was impossible to get candidates for a job. Now, as employers are faced with a demandless market for their product or service, and have to scale back, there are candidates a-plenty. It’s having a real trickle-down effect on newspapers, job-boards, employment consultants, ad agencies and, most of all, candidates.
New technologies are filtering candidates on line, and HR recruitment people are often hiding behind voicemail to avoid being flooded with candidate calls. And with the flood of candidates, it is taking more time to recruit the best one for the job. For employers, even using recruitment software, like LHR’s eziJob, helps the process. For candidates, finding a way direct to the employer’s decision maker is a tough, but not impossible, call.
In all times of change, there are opportunities lost and taken. For both employer and candidate it is time to be creative and definitive about “what is it you really want?”
